Dayanita Singh - Dancing with my Camera

Since the 1980s, Dayanita Singh has been doing pioneering work in the field of photography, repeatedly overcoming the limitations of the medium. Dancing with my Camera presents the most important creative phases in the oeuvre of the internationally renowned artist - from her earliest works to the present day.

Internationally acclaimed artist Dayanita Singh often refers to herself as a "book artist." Singh is instrumental in the creation of this book, which accompanies the major retrospective of Singh's work at Gropius Bau curated by Stephanie Rosenthal. The book is the most comprehensive publication to date on Singh's art and includes numerous scholarly essays, color reproductions, and installation photographs. The publication presents all of the artist's major creative phases and enters Singh's archive to present, among other things, never-before-shown early works from the 1980s, as well as a new series of montages or the works Let's See, Museum of Chance, Museum of Shedding, I Am as I Am, Go Away Closer, and Box 507.
