Panasonic announces a firmware update to version 2.0 for the LUMIX GH6 mirrorless system camera to improve performance and usability. It is also launching a LUMIX G cashback promotion for select LUMIX G cameras and LEICA MicroFourThirds lenses.aThe LUMIX flagship GH6 was most recently named "Best Professional 4K Hybrid Camera" by the international jury of experts at the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA). Now the camera is to be continuously developed further with firmware updates.
In collaboration with ATOMOS, the new firmware enables output of up to 5.8K / 29.97p and C4K / 119.88p RAW video over HDMI for recording as Apple ProRes RAW on ATOMOS NINJA V and NINJA V+ devices. A LUT (Lookup Table) has been developed exclusively for RAW video recorded with NINJA V + and NINJA V to perform the same color correction as V-Log/V-Gamut. This makes it easy to match and combine colors between footage recorded with Panasonic Varicam and EVA1 cameras. With this update, it is also possible to load low-compression, high-quality data directly to the PC without transcoding for smooth NLE (non-linear editing).
As part of the current LUMIX G Summer Cashback promotion, customers can also currently receive up to €300 cashback when purchasing selected Panasonic LUMIX G cameras or LEICA lenses. The promotion period runs at selected retailers until July 31.
For a model of the LUMIX GH5M2 series, G9 series and G91 series, Panasonic will pay up to 100 euros cashback as part of the summer promotion. For selected LEICA lenses, even up to 300 euros will be refunded. To participate, all that is required is a registration of the purchased models including upload of the proof of purchase between June 15 and August 14, 2022 at the link www.panasonic.de/lumix-g-cashback. A list of participating retailers and the exact cashback amounts per product can also be found there.
The firmware program will be published on July 5 on the following website:
